Global Learning Services As a division of Cúram Global Services, the primary role of the Global Learning Services (GLS) group is to ensure that Cúram customers and SI partners have the knowledge required to implement, operate, and support solutions based on Cúram. This is achieved by providing training products and services that cover both the functional and technical aspects of the Cúram Business Application Suite (CBAS). Job Description The primary role of a Technical Instructor in Global Learning Services is to deliver training on the technical features of the CBAS to software professionals (mainly developers) from customer organisations and integration partners and internal resources in Cúram Software. A secondary aspect of the role is to contribute to the design and maintenance of the courseware. This position is based at our Bangalore office. The role requires a travel commitment of at least 50%. Travel is primarily throughout India, the US, Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical training courses to customers, partners and internal staff to a very high standard
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the Cúram development environment, technologies, and associated third party tools
  • Update and enhance existing training materials
  • Assist in the creation and delivery of customized technical workshops
  • Work closely with the current team of trainers and courseware developers
  • Mentor GLS team members
  • Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with fellow employees, partners and customers

Skills and Attributes

  • A minimum of four years post-graduate experience and a diploma or degree in a computer-related discipline or equivalent computer-related technical experience is required
  • A minimum of two years Java programming experience is required
  • A minimum of two years technical training experience is required
  • Experience of working in the full software development lifecycle
  • Instructional aptitude and a good mixture of technical and customer-facing skills
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills
  • Knowledge of modern software architectures, including Modelled-Driven and Service-Oriented architectures would be an advantage
  • Working knowledge of object-oriented concepts and UML modelling tools
  • Knowledge of J2EE (including JSP and EJB technologies) and component-based development
  • Familiarity with JDBC, SQL, XML, XSL, CSS, HTML, JavaScript and Google Guice (or any Dependency Injection Framework)
  • Experience with integrated development environments, including WebSphere Studio Application Developer and Eclipse would be an advantage
  • Strong SQL and data modelling skills would be an advantage
  • Experience using Oracle and/or DB2 would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of design patterns would be an advantage
  • Experience in providing training needs analysis and educational consulting would be an advantage
  • Experience of application servers, such as WebSphere Application Server would be an advantage Personal attributes
