Ronan Rooney

CTO and co-founder

Along with CEO John Hearne, Ronan Rooney co-founded Cúram Software (then IT Design) in 1990. Rooney had a vision for developing a framework that would enable Human and Social Services agencies to better manage clients and cases; that vision soon became the basis for the Cúram framework. As CTO, Rooney is responsible for product research and development and ensures that Cúram Software continues to provide agencies with innovative, program-independent technology that enables them to easily and efficiently upgrade older legacy systems.

Prior to Cúram Software, Rooney managed client/server projects for large corporate clients at Apple Computer. He spent 15 years in the Irish Department of Social Welfare, Dublin, working as a case worker and supervisor before moving to the IT department where he worked as a systems analyst and, subsequently, as IT project manager. While there he gained extensive experience in the business and development of large-scale transaction processing systems.
