The State of Louisiana is no stranger to disaster.  In the wake of a string of large natural disasters, Louisiana was forced to take a hard look at the way it distributed disaster benefits to its citizens. To combat the long lines and wait times, improve data accuracy, process applications and load benefits, and implement new safeguards against fraud, the State of Louisiana decided the develop an automated, customer-centric Disaster Food Stamps system that included a pre-registration process.  Using the Curam solution, Lousiana was able to implement a low-cost, user-friendly system that was compatible with their existing IT infrastructure in time for the next hurricane season.
