Cúram Software Establishes Cúram Research Institute For Increased Innovation In Social Enterprise Management

New Institute Will Promote Best Practice Service Delivery and Technology

Herndon, Va. – September 21, 2011 – Cúram Software, the leading provider of Social
Enterprise Management (SEM) software solutions, today announced the establishment of the
Cúram Research Institute, a research arm of the organization which aims to foster the
development of best practice service delivery models for social enterprises.

“The International Social Security Association welcomes the establishment of the Cúram
Research Institute, which is both timely and relevant for social security systems,” Hans-Horst
Konkolewsky, Secretary General, International Social Security Association. “The ISSA shares
the objective to promote best practice service delivery and ICT solutions that increase the social
and economic potential of citizens, and looks forward to collaboration with the Institute and with
other innovative industry actors in the future.”

The Cúram Research Institute is committed to cutting-edge research in partnership with social
enterprises, not-for-profits, academia and other social research organizations, with a focus on
the cross-over from policy to service delivery. “By collaborating with research partners around
the world, we are able to glean insight from effective and proven service delivery models and
expand access to emerging best practices,” Martin Duggan, Vice President of Market Strategy,
Cúram Software. “This innovation is essential to improve the social and economic potential of
individuals and families.”

The Cúram Research Institute’s partnership with NCCD's Children’s Research Center (CRC) is
a collaboration focused on expanding evidence-based practice and making it more accessible to
the social enterprise. The initial collaboration enables family service organizations to realize a
faster time to value when implementing CRC’s Structured Decision Making® system, a globally
proven decision-support methodology for improving outcomes in child welfare. “We look forward
to our future endeavours with the Cúram Research Institute as we continue to spread evidencebased
practice through our joint research and development program,” said Alex Busansky,

President of NCCD. “Our pioneering partnership model enables social service agencies to
quickly and cost effectively put research-based practices into the field. It provides an innovative
and effective means for agencies to improve safety and well-being for children.” NCCD
promotes just and equitable social systems for individuals, families, and communities through
research, public policy, and practice.

Workforce services agencies will also benefit from the Institute’s on-going investment in both
practice and products with access to new research capabilities. The Cúram Research Institute’s
recent partnership with the Pacific Coast University for Workplace Health Sciences, a global
educational and research center in British Columbia, supports the creation and dissemination of
workplace health information with an international focus. The Pacific Coast University places
emphasis on the fields of workplace safety, health promotion, return to work, disability
management, comprehensive rehabilitation and disability leadership studies. “Education is a key
factor in reducing the social, human and economic costs associated with workplace disability,”
said Wolfgang Zimmermann, Executive Director, National Institute of Disability Management
and Research (NIDMAR). “By partnering with organizations like the Cúram Research Institute to
leverage industry research and expertise, we can lay the foundation for a safer work
environment and the reintegration of disabled workers into the workforce.”

Output from the Cúram Research Institute is expected to consist of research papers, position
papers, industry consultations and input to the Cúram solution. For more information on the
