How to Become Cúram Certified

Cúram provides a simple process for obtaining and maintaining your certification. This process is outlined in the following diagram. Please click the relevant area of the diagram to see the details of each step.

Prerequisite Training

Cúram Certification exams are based on the material covered during instructor-led training (ILT) courses delivered over several days in a classroom environment. Cúram Certification exams are designed to validate diverse skill sets. With that in mind, the following ILT classroom courses are defined for each certification:

A learner who completes either of the above ILT classroom courses is granted one free exam attempt if taken within 90 days of the completion of the training course.

Registration

All Cúram Certification exams are administered by Prometric, the leading provider of testing and assessment services with a global network of over 5,000 test centers. Certification candidates are advised to register for their certification exam soon after completing the corresponding Fundamentals classroom training course. Following registration, the certification exam itself can be scheduled at a suitable time in any Prometric test center.

Instructions for registering for an exam can be found here.  Registration Instructions

Preparation

Preparation consists of revising the material covered during the ILT classroom training course. Each course attendee receives hard-copy manuals that contain the full contents of the course. The amount of preparation time required will differ for each candidate, as it depends on a range of personal factors, including experience, study techniques, and work commitments. For the Developers exam, GLS recommends that candidates spend approximately 8 hours a week preparing for the certification exam over a period of 6-8 weeks. For the Business Analysts exam, GLS recommends that candidates spend approximately 6 hours a week preparing for the exam over a period of 4-8 weeks.

Further information and guidance on examinable topics is provided to attendees during the classroom courses and in the specific Certification Exam sheets

Taking the Exam

The Cúram certification exam is a closed-book, computer-based test that consists of 40 multiple-choice questions. Candidates have one hour to complete the exam. To ensure that candidates are evaluated in an industry-standard testing environment, the exam is taken in a Prometric testing center.

The passing score for the following exams is 70% (28 or more questions correct): CCD V6, CCP V6, and CCP V5.2.

For the CCD V5.2 exam, the passing score is 65% (26 questions correct).
