Appeals

Any appeals must be made within ten (10) business days of the exam completion date. The appeals procedure is as follows:

  • A request for an appeal is sent to Cúram Software for assessment of the grounds for the appeal.
  • The request must detail the reason for the appeal.
  • The exam is then reviewed, and Cúram Software will respond with a final decision within twenty (20) business days.

Candidates Conduct

No candidate or certified person will behave in a manner that compromises the integrity or confidentiality of any Cúram certification exam. This includes, but is not limited to, the following actions:

  • Using any aids, notes, equipment, or other materials
  • Falsifying one’s identity or impersonating another individual
  • Forging any certification certificates
  • Copying, reselling, distributing, or misusing any certification exam vouchers
  • Failing to follow the regulations or instructions stipulated by a testing facility administrator, or otherwise violating any testing facility regulations or policies
  • Causing a disturbance of any kind in a testing facility
  • Removing or attempting to remove questions and/or responses (in any format) or notes, note board, or paper from the testing room
  • Disclosing or sharing any of the content of the tests/examinations with other individuals

Certificates

A charge may be incurred for replacing or amending certificates.

Certification Fees

Candidates who complete one of the prerequisite classroom training courses are entitled to one (1) free attempt at the corresponding certification exam, if this attempt is made within 90 days after the end of the course.

A fee of USD$150 will apply to any subsequent attempts at the certification exam, or if a first attempt is made more than 90 days after the end of the classroom training course.

Candidates who are approved for a training waiver are also entitled to one free attempt at a certification exam under the same terms and conditions.

Certification Validity

At its discretion, Cúram Software will define and publish the scope, format, and duration of each certification exam. The scope, format, and duration of each exam are subject to change by Cúram Software without notice.

Each certification exam maps to a specific product release. Certificates are issued for the product release specified on the certificate.

Cúram Software reserves the right to limit the validity of a release-dependent certificate over time. The validity of a certificate expires on or before the time at which Cúram Software ends support of the release in question.

At its discretion, Cúram Software define the releases for which examinations will be offered and their validity over time.

Cúram Software may offer a bridging-certification test to upgrade the certificate for a particular release so that it is valid for the subsequent release. Bridging-certification test candidates must hold the certificate for the current release. Possession of the certificate for a back-level release does not entitle a candidate to admission to a bridging-certification test. Cúram Software reserves the right to include in bridging-certification tests not only matters of general importance, but also matters specific to the new release.

A candidate’s certification is valid for the current major release of the product and the two previous major releases. Certifications are currently valid for the following Cúram releases: V6, V5.2, and V5.0. Candidates with a valid certification must keep their skills current by upgrading on new versions of Cúram. If no new exams or upgrades are taken within that period, your certification will be suspended for six months. Candidates have six months to recertify their Cúram certification. If a candidate does not recertify within the six-month suspension period, the prerequisite classroom training course must be attended again before the corresponding certification exam can be attempted.

Confidentiality

Candidates must not disclose or share any of the content of testing materials. Candidates must not ask for, write, publish, or otherwise disclose any test questions of answers.

Infringements of the Certification Exam Rules

Candidates who use any unauthorized discount or promotional code may have their exam results invalidated, risk a lifetime ban on all future exams, and have all previous certifications nullified.

In the event of a material infringement of the examination rules, all certificates awarded to the offending candidate are invalidated. Furthermore, the candidate will be excluded from further examinations. A candidate who has materially infringed the rules must promptly return all certificates to Cúram Software. In the event of a minor infringement of the examination rules, the candidate's exam will be assessed as a "fail." However, the candidate may retake the exam in accordance with the relevant terms and conditions.

Modifications to Certification Program

Cúram Software reserves the right to change its certification program, without cause or notice, including but not limited to changing certification requirements; changing recommended or required classroom training courses; and changing exam objectives, content, passing score, item type, time allowed, and delivery platform for any certification exam.

Privacy of Personal Data and Identification

Cúram Software respects each candidate’s privacy and is committed to protecting personal information shared with Cúram Software or our testing vendor.  To participate in the certification program, each candidate agrees to provide the following information to Cúram Software and its test delivery vendor:

  • Test results
  • Contact details
  • Demographic and other personal information

Candidates agree to the transmission and use of personal information as set forth herein:

  • The test delivery vendor gathers the candidate’s personal information.  From the registration and testing site, the personal information is transmitted electronically by the test delivery vendor to its central certification database, which may be located in another country. The test delivery vendor will also transmit the personal information electronically to Cúram Software and other companies with which Cúram Software has a business relationship concerning testing and certification.
  • Personal information will be used by Cúram Software and other companies when issuing certification certificates. Candidates must inform Cúram Software in writing of any change of address, of name, or of employer attaching official documents and a statement by the new employer, as appropriate.

Retakes

Candidates may attempt a certification exam three times, in other words, an initial attempt followed by two retakes. Exam retakes require payment of the full exam fee and are not discounted.

An exam that is scheduled but not taken is deemed to be an attempt, unless a valid reason is provided, such as illness, or personal circumstances.

The period of time allowed between successive attempts of a certification exam depends on how many attempts have been made to date. The following conditions apply:

  • In the case of a second attempt, the candidate may retake the exam immediately
  • In the case of a third attempt, the candidate must wait at least 20 business days from the date of the previous attempt before retaking the exam

Vouchers

The terms and conditions imposed by Thompson Prometric for examination voucher usage must be adhered to. Some of these terms and conditions are as follows:

  • Voucher numbers are not transferable between candidates.
  • Cúram Software does not provide extensions to any candidates.
  • Credits cannot be given against unused vouchers purchased.
  • Cúram Software is not responsible for testing center availability when using vouchers to schedule the exam.
  • Cúram Software will not replace any voucher number that is found to be fraudulent or misused.
