Exam Cancellations and Rescheduling
Candidates who wish to change their exam date or time, or cancel their original exam appointment, must do so before noon two (2) business days prior to the appointment. This can be done via the Thompson Prometric website. There is no charge for rescheduling or canceling an appointment if the change is made before noon two (2) business days prior to your appointment. Please note that to avail of the free attempt at the certification exam, you must reschedule the exam within 90 days of the completion of the classroom training course. If you reschedule an exam after this time, you have to pay a fee. There is a charge of $150 USD (or local equivalent) for each exam re-sit and attempts outside of the 90-day window.
Exam Retakes
Candidates who do not achieve a passing score on their first attempt at a certification exam may retake the exam. Beyond the 90-day window, all retakes must be scheduled within the exam eligibility window, which is one (1) year from the completion of the corresponding classroom training course. Candidates who exceed the one-year exam eligibility window must re-sit the relevant course, or apply for a waiver (providing waiver reasons) before they may attempt the exam for the first time.
Candidates may attempt an exam three (3) times, in other words, a first attempt plus two (2) retakes for any given release of Curam within one year of course completion. If a certification exam is not successfully completed on the first attempt, there is no required wait time before making a second attempt. However, the procedure for third attempts is different. A minimum period of twenty (20) business days must elapse between the date of a candidate’s failed second attempt and the date of their planned third attempt at the test.
If a fourth attempt is required, written permission must be obtained from Cúram Software. If an exam is scheduled and not taken, this is deemed to be an attempt.
