Course Description

This course provides an introduction to developing rules and rule sets that will be developed and published via the Cúram Express Rules™ (CER) framework. It presents an overview of the key analysis tasks involved in transforming legislation or other statutory documentation into rule sets that can be created, published, and maintained via CER. It introduces the concepts and tasks that underpin rules development, focusing on how rules development can be performed via the CER framework.

The course covers out-of-the-box CER functionality. It also enables learners to gain practical exposure to CER Editor operations that are typically required of a range of personnel working on Cúram projects.

Learning Objectives

After completing this course, learners will be able to

  • perform the key analysis tasks involved in CER development
  • describe how to implement rules development via the CER framework
  • develop a simple rules solution using the CER framework

Pre-requisites

Required
Learners should have a working knowledge of health and human services programs and exposure and experience in typical business analysis activities related to system implementations. In addition, learners should have experience of translating Social Welfare legislation into Eligibility and Entitlement business rules. Finally, learners must have attended CB600 - Fundamentals of the Cúram Enterprise Framework (V6) for Business Analysts.

It is recommended that learners have experience of working with browser-based applications.

Course Outline

This is a four-day course. Learners are introduced to CER from the perspective of a Business Analyst developing rules. The course focuses on the data and functionality that comes with the out-of-the-box CER Editor.

This course is intended for business analysts and other functional and technical personnel who will develop rulesets to be published, deployed, and maintained via the CER framework.
