Cúram V5.2 Certified Developer

Cúram V5.2 Certified Developer

Target Roles

Developer, Tester, and Database Administrator.

Objective

Learners will have demonstrated that they are Cúram-certified and able to develop and maintain Cúram applications using the Cúram Application Development Environment™ (ADE).

Prerequisites

A basic grasp of the end-user application, associated terminology, and business concepts is particularly useful when implementing technical solutions based on Cúram. The classroom-based course Functional Overview of the Cúram V5.2 Platform (CB521) and web-based course Cúram V5.2 Functional Overview (CBFUNC520W) provide this knowledge. Learners must have a fundamental grasp of n-tier application development and architectures, including object-oriented development and web development technologies.

Path Description

Knowledge of object-oriented concepts and Java development skills are essential for completing Fundamentals of the Cúram Enterprise Framework (V5.2) for Developers (CT520) and to work as a Cúram developer. Java Fundamentals for Cúram Developers (CT525) is recommended for people who do not have these essential skills. This course offers the following modules: Object-oriented concepts and UML, Java fundamentals with Eclipse, SQL essentials, XML, and J2EE overview. Emphasis is placed on developing skills in aspects of these technologies that are essential for Cúram developers. A detailed skills survey is performed in advance of training to determine the needs of your team and to select the relevant topics to cover. Java Fundamentals for Cúram Developers (CT525) is suitable for people moving from legacy development environments to a Cúram development environment.

The Cúram Enterprise FrameworkTM (CEF) includes a feature-rich ADE for customizing Cúram solutions. It is essential that developers select and implement the correct features in the ADE to build Cúram-compliant solutions. Fundamentals of the Cúram Enterprise Framework (V5.2) for Developers (CT520) provides a thorough grounding in the use of the Cúram ADE. It presents an architectural overview of the Cúram application, introduces the Cúram ADE, explains the recommended approach to customizing the CEF, and provides an opportunity to gain practical exposure to development in Cúram.

Cúram V5.2 Boot Camp for Developers (CT526) provides accelerated learning that is facilitated by a mentor. The aim of the boot camp is to quickly bridge the gap between the skills attained in fundamental training and the skills required in full-scale project development. This boot-camp program presents the learners with real-life development scenarios designed to rapidly develop modeling, implementation, and troubleshooting skills. This type of training is especially useful for developers who are moving from legacy or non Java-based technologies, such as COBOL.

Post-Training Options

Achieving Cúram Certification is a great way to deepen learner understanding of the Cúram product and to increase learner confidence in using Cúram.  The V5.2 Cúram Certified Developer (CCD) exam is challenging, and candidates must be well prepared for it. Please visit the certification section of this website for information on the benefits of certification and how to prepare for the V5.2 Cúram Certified Developer exam.

Developers can build on the knowledge gained in fundamentals training and keep up-to-date with new technical services provided by taking technical and business WBT courses from the Cúram eLearning PassportTM, which cover such topics as Cúram Workflow,  Cúram Web Services, Enterprise Modules, JMS for Cúram, Data Migration, Upgrade, Reporting, and Search Server.
